Hi..great to have so many comments and some of them are really my thoughts. I have always believed women stray as much since the partner is male. Anil, it realy demands courage to admit vulnerability to temptations.kudos.Manish has some point which is going to be next base of blog.

i was trying to read statistics and probability - and it just occurred to me that statistically it would be impossible to have polygamy without also having polyandry !

could the other gentlemen give their views!

It took a while for me to gather some thoughts on this post and hence my submission has taken more time than usual. The 5th man contributes.
It isn’t a question of polygamy as been emphasized. Neither it’s a difference of culture. It ‘s purely a choice. And choice has some constraints which are expressed as an element of fear. Fear of losing on something close or a fear of rules.
Nick is neither lucky nor unfaithful. In absolute pungent vocabulary ( kindly forgive), Nick has balls not just to show but that he uses too. It is worthwhile thinking (keeping aside some male chauvinism), how many of stronger sex in absence of fear would really be able to resist the temptations. Before I ask this question, I admit, I really don’t know if I can.
Rama, this post is must to be preserved. Not right here on WordPress but into the male matter. Sometime somewhere deeply, it has a chance for endorsement.
I am happy for Nick. Lucky chap who gets a girlfriend knowingly what kind of guy he is. That’s enough to state that I am not a hardcore feminist either ;-)
I am delighted to hear I have influenced through comments. You know well, these are some senescing thoughts !
But for now, Nick Pye is Dick Guy..;-)
Amen.

oops - got late to comment so have a lot of spice now - ironically saying and putting things in practice - completely different -

Glorious unfaithfuls - another caption i think for this post - getting on bits from the same discussion the other day - its so easy for men to get into directional thinking and justify something - and the audacity with which they glorify their deeds - phenominal

Trust - something which is again situational for our specie - Hypocracy - changes with person to person - Loyalty - all good till you get an opportunity - Image management - ask your wife !!

Would love to continue with some more, but i guess ill take some years - to build on, on this..!!

Who says it is Men who are genetically unfaithful ??? i find the whole topic to be a non issue, to start with

one cannot correlate faithfulness into any gender. May be males are more forthright and blabber out (with some extra spice too) while women are more guarded on this subject. and that is the only difference.

yes - you can have a societal differences here. may be in an Indian society you would find more men who are willing to confess their polygamous thoughts while most women would rather hide their polyandrous ones.

Moreover, what is faith. faith is something in the mind. Who has heard of being faithful to the cook. hunger is a physical need, but still we cannot think of staying faithful to a single cook through out our lives. nor take a fast-till-death once that cook goes. why is any other physical need different.

these views are pertinent till we view sex as a mere physical thing only. For those who view sex as physical only - you may stop here.

once we are able to identify that there is a difference in sleeping with anyone and sleeping with someone - game is different; entirely.

and the difference is actually beyond words.

well well well!
i gave a second thought on ur writeup (dont worry, this time on a serious note)and now i should say, that every human being has shades of personalities and character. no one is or can be compartmentalized to be 100% of one personality, and in this multiplicity, at some point of time in his/her life experiences the dilution of monogamistic character, and it is inevitable. Yes i mentioned "his/her" ........
